The fairies say 'thank you'

We are pleased to announce that the Fairies in the Park charity event held earlier this month in Pontypridd, South Wales was an overwhelming success. Now that the money has been counted and officially verified, we can reveal how much we were able to raise for Dreams and Wishes, a charity that helps children across the UK and their families with support and fulfilment of their wishes.
The event was held at Ynysangahard War Memorial Park and Pontypridd Market and donations were collected from visitors on an entirely voluntary basis. Despite adverse weather conditions, on the day itself we managed to collect over £600 with 100% of that money going to help special children. This brings the total raised so far to an amazing £706.40 which includes donations made via our justgiving page where we are still accepting donations.
We would like to thank Tutu Pretty for donating two beautiful dresses, which were given away today in a prize raffle held at Sugar and Spice in Pontypridd. We also have to thank the volunteers who gave up their time and put in so much effort to make the event a huge success. We are so proud of the team including those who made children very happy on the day of the main event and those who spent weeks helping us prepare for the event, creating the attractions and spreading the word.
Of course we must thank everyone who attended. More than 400 children came to see us and it was such a delight to see those smiling happy faces. We know that the fairies absolutely loved seeing you and you told us that you loved seeing them. We were delighted to receive such positive feedback and we cannot thank you enough for defying the rain and getting into the spirit that the fairies hoped for.

The standard was unbelievably high and we wanted to award prizes for everyone. You can see the runners up and others who shared in our big day on social media. All the children who completed the fairy trail got wishing dust from Sugar and Spice to help even more wishes come true.
